HONDO (MAIN HALL)

Comments
Hondo is located at the same place where Chu Kondo was constructed in the Nara period. On many aspects, this Main Hall is similar to the predominant architectural style of Buddhist temples of the Nara period. Although its construction was around 1665 in the Edo period, traditional design can be observed on this building, showing that such old style was preferred in the district of Nara even in the Edo period.
