JUICHIMEN KANNON BOSATSU RYUZO (STANDING STATUE OF ELEVEN HEADED KANNON)

Comments
This statue is a so-called Hasedera style. Originally it was made by a sculptor belonging to a group of Buddhist statue sculptors living in a temple’s lodging in Nara. It was enshrined at the left side of altar in the main hall of Choshoji Temple in Nara, which was abolished during the Anti-Buddhist Movement in the early Meiji period. The statue is not open to the public since it is much damaged.
