FUDO MYO-O ZAZO (SEATED STATUE OF ACALANATHA)

Comments
This statue holds a sacred sword in the right hand and a salvation rope in the left hand, bearing a flame-shaped halo on the back. It is seated on the pedestal called Shitsushitsuza which was made in a similar form to Shumidan (Buddhist Altar). This statue looks like keeping deep compassion inside, and extreme wrath on its face expresses not only strong anger against evils but also salvation by Buddha.
