Manjusri was deeply worshiped by Eison (Kosho Bosatsu) throughout his life but few statues have remained to date. In 1302 an Eye-opening ceremony was held to consecrate these newly made statues on the 13th anniversary of his death. Many sutras and other documents were discovered deposited inside this statue which was made of wood and colored. Height of these statues : Manjusri 82.41cm, Zenzai-Doji 86.94cm, Udenno 120.27cm, Buddhapali 104.52cm, and Saisho-Rojin 104.22cm.
