KYOZO (SUTRA REPOSITORY)

Comments
This Repository was constructed in 1288 during resurgence of Saidaiji Temple by Eison. A high-floored style house. It was fairly affected by the architectural style of the Daibutsu-Den (the Great Buddha Hall) but Zen school’s style was also partially applied. In the Showa period, this building was dismantled and repaired. Remnant of a repository built in the ancient time remains in the moderate appearance of this hip-roofed building.
