UHO DOJI ZO (STATUE OF UHO DOJI)

Comments
This child-shaped statue represents a figure of Amaterasu Omikami at the time when he descended on the Province of Hyuga (Miyazaki Pref.). A five ring pagoda is put on his head in order to express that his true form or original reality is Dainichi Nyorai (Mahavairocana). He holds a pilgrim’s staff with the right hand and a wish-fulfilling jewel in the left hand. UHO DOJI is said to bring treasure and benefits to people.
