KOMOKUTEN ZO (STATUE OF VIRUPAKSA)

Comments
With the magnificent, powerful and heavy body similar to Zochoten, this statue is standing on the rock, keeping its face slightly to the right and turning its body defensively to the left. It is an angry look style and is unique, as compared to other types of Komokuten statues, in keeping the mouth open and baring the teeth considerably. As a whole the figure of this statue, particularly from the waist to the legs, resembles Zochoten, so both statues are considered to have been made in a series of sculptures.
